Canada planning major sports investment revolution after successful hosting of 2026 FIFA World Cup

Canada is planning a major sports  investment  revolution that will place the country among the very best in all disciplines.

After Canada's historic 2026 World Cup hosting, Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced the largest-ever federal investment in sport, a $1 billion investment to improve access to sports, upgrading stadiums, fields, and local parks.

This will also support athlete development, and help establish a permanent Canada Soccer National Training Center.

The potential impact this could have on the national football team would be priceless.

Canada as co-hosts of the just ended FIFA World Cup, reached the Round of 16 stage before being knocked out by Morocco.

After their World Cup heroics, Canada will play two home friendlies in September and October.

The Canadians will host Chile at the BMO Field in Toronto on September 26 and Peru at Montreal's Stade Saputo on October 3.
