Ghana Premier League (GPL) giants Asante Kotoko have appointed Portuguese-South African Eric Tinkler as their new head coach.
The Porcupines, named the former South Africa captain as their new helmsman on Friday ahead of the new football season.
Tinkler, arrives with a wealth of managerial experience, having previously led South African clubs Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City, SuperSport United, Chippa United, Maritzburg United, and Sekhukhune United.
With Tinkler's appointment, a new chapter begins for the Porcupine Warriors as they seek to revive their fortunes as a football club.
Asante Kotoko have seen their status in the Ghanaian game decline over the years not to talk of their pedigree on the African scene.
Coach Tinkler, will be expected to help position Asante Kotoko to the levels it was years back when they were feared on the African continent.
That process starts next season as they compete on two fronts, the GPL and the FA Cup competition.
The new gaffer, will take the team through pre-season as they prepare for the new campaign in September.
