Former Liverpool player Luis Suarez has heaped praises on another of his former clubs FC Barcelona for standing up for him during his difficult moments.
The Uruguayan said, he will forever be grateful to the Spanish giants for the role they played when he fell low.
"When I bit Chiellini, I was suspended for four months without playing.
Liverpool told me to look for another club, and I became a player hated by everyone," the striker said.
"After I did it, I realized immediately.
We scored a few minutes later—I think around the 10th minute—with Godín's goal, and I didn't celebrate it the way everyone else did because I was already thinking about what would come afterward.
"I went into the dressing room, and the first thing I did was speak to my wife, who was there with our children.
She asked me what I had done, and obviously, from the beginning, I didn't want to accept reality.
I was in denial, crying, and everything else.
There were mixed emotions in the dressing room—happiness, but also everyone looking at their phones because of what was being reported.
Honestly, it was a very painful moment for me and for the group.
Of course, everything that happened affected me and hurt me deeply."
