CAVB President calls for commitment as Women's Volleyball Club Championship kicks off in Cairo

President of the African Volleyball Confederation, Bouchra Hajij, has called on athletes, officials, and stakeholders to maintain unwavering dedication to the growth of volleyball across the continent.

Speaking during the official opening of the 2026 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo, Hajij praised the steady progress of women’s volleyball in Africa and urged all participants to continue striving for excellence both on and off the court.

She emphasized that the tournament is more than just a competition, describing it as a platform for unity, development, and empowerment for women in sport. 

Hajij further highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork, and commitment in elevating African volleyball to greater international heights.

The championship, hosted by Al Ahly SC, has drawn top clubs from across Africa, setting the stage for high-level competition and talent showcase over the coming days.

As matches get underway, Hajij’s message of continued dedication resonates strongly, reinforcing the shared vision of building a stronger and more competitive future for African volleyball.
