Board Chairman of Ghana Premier League (GPL) giants Asante Kotoko James Osei Brown have tasked new coach Eric Tinkler to win next season's championship.
The record Ghana champions, last won the Ghanaian top-flight title in the season of 2021/2022.
And wanting to reverse that trend, chieftains at the Porcupines wants to return the club to winning ways starting next season.
“The expectation is that we want you to win us the league and then take us to where all of us want us to be", board Chairman James Osei Brown told coach Tinkler.
"You have our full support,” Mr Brown said, promising that the Asante Kotoko board will give the South African their full support.
Coach Tinkler since his appointment last week, has plugged into full scale pre-season with his charges in preparation for the new season.
He will hope to put the boys well into shape ahead of the start of the season in September.
Last season, Asante Kotoko placed eighth in the GPL, and will want to better that performance in the coming campaign.
That's the task that confronts Eric Tinkler as he takes charge of his first coaching assignment outside of his home country, South Africa.
