Asante Kotoko and Aduana FC show mutual respect to each other after Sunday's league game at Dormaa-Ahenkroh

In a spirited show of respect and appreciation towards each other, Asante Kotoko and Aduana FC issued a statement showing respect to each other.

This came after their league game on Sunday at Dormaa-Ahenkroh that ended goalless.

Going into this Ghana Premier League (GPL) Matchday 27 fixture, there were concerns that violence could spring out between both set of fans at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park.

However, the game passed off peacefully without any bad insident being recorded.

There have been instances in the past when violence have broken out between both set of fans in this high tension game considering the rivalry between the two sides.

Aduana FC posted on their media channels after Asante Kotoko had first showed appreciation for the warm reception offered them in Dormaa-Ahenkroh on Sunday.

The statement read:

"We appreciate the kind words from Asante Kotoko and the mutual respect shown throughout the game.

At Aduana Football Club, led by our CEO Atta Poku, we believe football is at its best when it is played in an atmosphere of peace, respect and unity.

Yesterday was a reflection of what Ghana football should always represent.

Together, we can continue to build a stronger, safer and more united game for everyone."

This was after Asante Kotoko had earlier posted on their own media channels which read:

“We highly commend Aduana Football Club, led by CEO Mr Atta Poku, for their wonderful reception and the peaceful atmosphere before, during, and after our league match played at Dormaa yesterday.”
